Our Mission statement

"To care of the land, the wildlife and the people"

We plan to fulfil our mission by creating a model of sustainable land use under wildlife, by re establishing the floral and faunal diversity that once existed in the area and by uplifting the local community.

Purpose and Significance of the Reserve

The Eastern Cape was once one of the most densely populated wildlife areas in Southern Africa. This changed after the onset of high intensity hunting and conventional livestock farming. Substantial parts of the area have and are currently being returned to wildlife based activities. Hopewell is situated in this area of transformation and forms a potential link between Addo Elephant National Park and other reserves.

Socially and economically the Eastern Cape has been considered a suppressed area. The activities being undertaken on Hopewell are benefiting the local socio-economic climate, by creating employment opportunities and improving working and living conditions. Hopewell creates an opportunity for visitors to experience a truly unique and holistic experience and in so doing creating an awareness by spreading the word of conservation ,and the urgent need to protect our ever diminishing natural environment. It is our intention is to leave a legacy for our children´s future and to balance our CO 2 emissions.
